About the club
The club, originally known as the Manly R.C. Car Club, was formed in 1978 and is now the oldest operating R.C. Club in N.S.W. We originally raced open circuit cars (that is, road racing Models) at Nolans Park, Manly. With the advent of Off-road buggies, approaches were made to find a suitable area to construct our off-road circuit.
In March 1982, the N.S.W. Off-Road Championships were successfully held at the Annual St. Ives Show on a makeshift circuit. So successful was the event that shortly after, the Club met with Ku-ring-gai Council and approval was given for a permanent track and club. The St Ives Off Road Track is among the best tracks in Australia.
The club is very family orientated and race meetings are held in a picnic-like atmosphere. Young and new drivers are offered plenty of assistance from the Club’s top drivers. Races are held for different classes of vehicles as well as driver’s experience – from the novice racer to the experienced 2 or 4 wheel drive racers. We also cater for Nitro vehicles.
All vehicles raced are 1/10th scale.
New drivers are especially welcome, and members are free to use the track at any time for private practice. For more information, feel free to contact us.
