Possible club day tomorrow

UPDATE: Confirmed! Racing is on for Sunday 22nd March, 2009! See you trackside before 10am.

Depending on progress of building the new track today, there is a good chance we’ll be running a special club day this Sunday, 22 March 2009.

This will be the first club meet on the brand new track.

I’ll post an update later this evening.

Working bee this weekend

The St Ives track will be rebuilt beginning tomorrow morning. Council has given full approval to the plans submitted and after many discussions they have approved in full the rebuild of the track.

We have approval to bring in new clay and design the track to the spec that has been circulated to the members. This is fantastic news as it will allow us to race on a world class track.

We will be working for the next 4 days full time on the track so please come up and lend a hand on the weekend.

See you all at the track!

Bugle’s B34

Bugle has been working on converting an Associated B3 into a 4wd buggy. Based on a similar design by MIP for the original alloy RC10, this car features a hand-made custom front gearbox, steering rack, suspension towers and CVD’s.

Farewell to the old track

_MG_6558bMedium.jpgLast Sunday marked a bit of a milestone for the club as it will be the last race on the track as we know it. With council approval granted, the offroad track is about to undergo a complete rebuild – new surface, new layout and new jumps.

We had a great turnout with all classes well represented. We also saw the debut appearance of Bugle’s B34 – a custom made 4wd buggy based on the Associated B3.

Photos from the day are available here.
